UN Competitive Recruitment Exam Information Session

I participated today in the information session about UN recruitment hold and financed by Georgetown University Business School. The presentation was delivered by Mr. John Ericson, who is the Chief of the Outreach Unit in the Office of Human Resources Management of the United Nations Secretariat in New York.

The aim of the meeting was to help us understand how we can start our career in the United Nations. There are few ways:





1. Apply directly for the job opening
2. Try the UN Volunteer Programe
3. Apply for the Junior Professional Officer (limited to certain countries, not available for Poles)
4. Apply to Young Professionals Programe (this is probably most suitable for fresh graduates. There are exams few times a year which include summary exercise, general knowledge test about UN and a test regarding your specialization field, e.g. administration, humanitarian affairs, ect.)
