Hungarian Prime Minister on the Hilltop

Apart from reveling in standardized scores, production functions and policy memos, studying at Georgetown, has one more advantage-possibility of meeting people from the front line. Every once in a while students receive an email about possibility of having lunch with a head of state, ambassador or a famous economist. Attendance is awarded through lottery. I was lucky to participate in lunch with Hungarian ex-Prime Minister  Gordon Bajnai. The topic of the lunch was economic crisis and measure which should be taken by the EU. The Prime Minister expressed his opinion that EU will not manage to survive the economic crisis without creating a common fiscal policy. There was also a Polsh accent-he said, he is relieved that "there is no Budapest in Warsaw" :)
