EU Ambassador to the US gives speech about Polish Presidency in the EU and economic crisis

The EU Ambassador to US, and Head of the EU Delegation to the United States, João Vale de Almeida, gave today speech about Polish EU presidency end economic crisis in EU. The lecture was organized by Georgetown's Klub Polski (!).

The Ambassador admitted that the EU was not equipped to face current economic crisis and that one of the reason for it is lack of common fiscal policy. At the same time, he is convinced that the Euro zone will overcome economic difficulties.


As for Polish Presidency, Ambassador pointed out that it is very difficult for Poland to contribute towards efforts in fighting economic crisis on European level, as the country is not part of Euro-zone.
